6 Week Virtual Photography Lighting Workshop

To teach a course in photography lighting techniques by using 3 points and 4 point lighting. To educate students on how to use a beauty dish, read a light meter, and adjust their camera settings. In this course, students will also become familiar with lighting terms, which are outline below.
Media & Techniques:
Students will learn different lighting techniques in the field of photography. Broad light, Short light, Split light, Backlight, Rim light, Butterfly light, Loop light.
The first week of the workshop takes place at the Creative house’s gallery.
Students will need a Nikon/Canon DSLR Camera to participate in the course. Students will learn lighting techniques using the in-studio cover at the creative house gallery. Students will also learn how to adjust their camera settings for different types of strobe lighting as well as continuous light. The student will also learn the principles of film utilizing continuous lighting.

Week 1- Orientation/Familiarization
Week 2-Light by degrees
Week 3-Front and backlight
Week 4-Side Lighting
Week 5-Hard Lighting and Fill light
Week 6-Soft and Diffused Light
Week 7-Light Meter Reading
Rasta Asaru is a Professional Published Photographer and Founder of the Creative House Gallery. He has been a lifelong student of Photography and a professional artist for over 25 years. He has been a photographer for over 16 years starting with his 1st published photography book Black Cotton he has since become a filmmaker with creative work in a wide range from Movie shorts to commercial products. Rasta as a founder of the Creative House Gallery now brings artist residency to Inglewood CA, with the intention of narrating a new creative path to young urban youths.
